Spring Compressors - worth spending more?

I have had a pair from Kmart AFAIR now for about 20 years .

They have cast hooks on them. I have used them to wind down my RRC springs numerous times.
Just oil em up and on with the impact wrench. Never bent , always worked.

I walked in to Repco, saw the prices & remembered what Repco stands for ( Rip every poor chap off) - or similar

& went over to Supercheap. The pair was under $60.
I also, as Dave says, jacked up the opposing side to compress the spring & the opposite to install.
They did bend a bit but not a prob.
Better late than never- I see you already bought.

I bought a the super cheap ones. They have worked fine so far.
Wish I oculd have said the same for the trolley jack.

Did you get a refund? They pretty much recalled all of them as they did not have compliance.
Thats why they only sell the mothers (3.5tonne?) nowadays.
