Watched the show, made me laugh. Go the rangie.
I am sorry but are they really that dumb the three of them? Ever since they took the Hilux to the North pole I have lost all respect for the guys. The show can be entertaining, and I nearly fell off of the tread mill laughing while watching last nights show, but really they turn into a pack of idiots when they do these sort of specials. Too many things are becoming scripted and staged for my liking.
I did like how along one of the gravel roads Clarkson was listening to the radio, enjoying the drive while the other too were bouncing all over the place and complaining about the ride.
I would have thought that Hammond would have found a defender over a Toyota as well - seems like he is almost embarresed to admit on the show he owns a defender.
The little Suzukis are very under rated, they keep on going.
Considering they bought the vehicles sight unseen, through e-bay it is amassing that they all got through. Does anyone know what the price limit on the vehicle price was - I missed that part.
Clarkson summed it up the best at the end re the rangie "The most unreliable car is the most reliable"

Just goes to show that even the poms know Land cruisers roll

There would be no chance what so ever of me going down that hill in the cruiser with those tyres on it

The only two people i know that owned them both rolled them on flat ground doing donuts in dirt

you guys are sooo cynical. I believe every bit of it, it all happened just the way Jeremy told it!! Obviously there was no need for any mechanical back up for those EBay vehicles, especially the Rangie which as we all know has an immensly strong drive train

...oh and I also believe that everything Bear Grills does is real

it's good entertainment and that is why I watch it. but they do drive some god awful cars sometimes and there is no way I would put in my mouth all the things that Bear eats on shoot.

I watch it purely for entertainment purposes, knowning that of course its all scripted. Nothing unplanned works, and if you pay attention to where the camera crew are filming from you can see that they have backup vehicles anyway.

So its not about being legit, its about enjoying a yarn.

Speaking of which, next weeks Vietnam trip also looks like its going to be a good laugh. One things for sure, they do provide entertainment

    They didn't say.
Logic dictates that the only way it could be 3 wheel drive is with a missing half shaft and a welded diff centre. I suspect they just said it was 3 wheel drive to enhance the story.

I am surprised that nobody has questioned how they just did overnight repairs to the vehicles in the middle of nowhere and came out with raised suspension and wheels with beadlocks etc?
Actually here is a link to the company that put together the 5" lift for the Rangie http://www.mm-4x4.com.
