I towed a single axle caravan from Horsham to Adelaide last week. I sat at about 103 - 110 the whole way.

My rough calculations were about 27 - 28 litres per hundred....
Sounded good though, 3200 rpm in 4th gear...

I recon that's not to bad Could you hear the fuel whistling through the lines Never been game to test my ol Rangie wile towing in third. I just fill her up and try not to look to hard I used to get over 22ltrs/100 driving like an idiot in city traffic Ease off and does around 16.

Anything under 30 litres per hundred km is good economy...

10.03L/100K is the best so far to and from work, sitting on 100kph in some parts, that's with 32s, bar and winch, roof racks, hilift, pole carrier and awning and shovel and full drawers in the back.

12.8L/100K towing our 1.4t camper is the best we have got so far, sitting on 105kph, with 17L/100K our worst, averaging 17kph crossing the Simpson Desert
