Never seen a Landie for Hire, Most companies that hire "real" 4x4's and let you take them off road go for Land Cruisers. Lots hire out soft roaders but read the contracts, even for some of these you are not allowed to take them off sealed roads.
This may seem like a really dumb question but as my old school teacher said there were no dumb questions only dumb answers....
I off loaded a disco twelve mths ago for various reasons. Now I'm in a position of wanting to tour say the outback of NT-SA in a 21/2 week period and am wondering whether there are hire companies in the Alice area or other areas that could off a landie for hire??? I know - quite unplanned and am unsure as to what to see or what to do. Idea maybe to fly into Alice and hire a vehicle and maybe end up in Adelaide or Darwin ... suggestions are wide open..... or just do local circuit around Alice area and fly out. Wil only have 21/2 weeks to do 'it'. Intelligent suggestions by those in the 'know'.
Thanks

There is a company in Victoria that hires fully kitted Defenders, should you wish to drive one from there. Includes fridge, stove, diff locks, recovery gear ....
Since you want a Defender so much, you could make a road trip out of it.

When are you looking at going?
I'm planning to do the Oodnadatta and Binns Track in September.
Where the hell have I been?
Just googled Binns track. Wow. Will definately put that on my to-do list!
Thanks for the tip...
