Thread: $2 per litre fuel soon

You think that's bad...I just overheard from the radio news about something involving 20 Shell staff and and industrial action, with the possibility of Victoria being out of fuel by the weekend! I'm off to fill the beast up before the prices and waiting times go into orbit at the servo!

It's finally just made it into the papers...here's the article.

Well guys now is the time to enjoy travelling in this great country. By the time I retire we will be all saying,

"Remember when we used to think nothing of driving a thousand Ks in our Land Rovers for a holiday, now days if you did that you would be an environmental terrorist"

It will not be the end of the world, all that will happen when petrol gets to be to expensive longterm rather then the ups and downs we have seen over the last four years, is nearly every Landy will end up being fitted out with LPG.
We will still be able to drive 1000's of ks for the holidays and with more vehicles on LPG it will mean the number of gas stations all over the country including distant places will increase and chances are it won't cost that much more to drive then it does now. We will all just have to get smaller fridges and heavier rear springs for the larger heavier LPG tanks.

Plus LPG burns cleaner and is better for the enviroment so its hard for the greenies to throw rocks at you.

The living costs versus wages battle never ends in a free market society and because in general this system works over the last hundred years or so our standard of living has only ever increased on average.

I tend to look at it as the cup being half full instead of being half empty.

we paid 2.49 about 18 months ago at the archer river road house and even more for our canning fuel drop. simple solution reduce demand and increase supply.
