Not so hard to understand, household power links neutral to earth so contact with the active is deadly without a RCD/earth leakage breaker. Inverters are fully isolated so touching one live wire will not kill you. For the same reason, appliance repairers use an isolating transformer to delink neutral in some kinds of equipment. Then a probing finger won't cause a nasty surprise.![]()
Air bags Tombie, what else? No, it is not a fair comparo. I was pretty ****ed, I had a view that the Prado was just a big soft roader and My macho disco with the air suspension and real live axles would be pulling the prado out of trouble. (Hope my brother does not go onto AURLO!) We went all over the cape including the shortcut crossing the Pascoe, all the water crossings etc and the Prado did not put a foot wrong. I still feel the Disco is a better 4X4 package when it works but there is not much wrong with the Prado either. His was on standard suspension, I would have put a 2" lift myself.
As to 11 yr old Prado, well another mate has a 12 yr old one 2X milage of mine and it wins hands down for reliability. You do not get a D2 for reliability, you get one coz you need to fiddle with cars! And you just like them even when SWMBO keeps telling you to sell.
