I wash that way when I can because it saves dam water. Also I can finish washing the car without the sun drying it before I can rinse it.
Sometimes when it is raining I will go out and wash the Landrover. I do this because the rain washes off the carwash soapy stuff and it saves me having to use the chamoix leather.Thought I would pass on this good idea.

For many in Oz, it's "What's rain?"![]()

RIP Bucko - Riding on Forever
why waste perfectly good dust by turning it into slime and mud by washing the exterior of the Range Rover
I recall last year in the Kimberley and Ningaloo.
We were camped at Yardie Creek Station and were over at Lakeside when some very dark clouds came over.
I raced back to the camper just in time for the cloudburst and we collected water off the annexe in a bucket and I washed the car in the rain for the first time and only time in 3 months. It only lasted about 1/2 hour.
That was the only rain we had in the 3 months, apart from the first day.
