We're heading into Sunset on tuesday 6th July. we plan on about 3 days there so anyone who would like to drop in at Burrows camp will be more than welcome. Be great if the odd local could drop in and we can go and explore a track or 2

You will love the peace and isolation it is good hour and half drive in...on a very rough road..but unless you are really keen bush walkers or avid readers I am not quite sure why you would be going there for 3 days

Nah....I would disagree with Mrs HH......we just came back from Sundown and 3 days is perfect.......we left the Friday and came back the Monday. Its a place to kick back and chillax....can go for a nice drive/ picnic down by the Severn River, head up at dusk to see the roo's and deer, go for an explore..Red Rock Gorge. Bring ya woolies though as it got well into the minuses when we were there a week and a bit ago,

    Regards

OK, well 3 days it is... we are looking for a nice chill out so it sounds good.
Now, where to from there. We've done the coast to death over the years so thinking of headin West..... Not worried about distance too much (no....the Kimberley is too far LOL) is it worth heading for the Channel Country and having a look?.... places to stop and see etc would be great thanks.

I wouldnt try the channel country without some really good up to date advice. The floodwaters and affected areas still require some very good advice b4 going there.....if you are allowed. My latest advice comes from a major oil exploration company keen to get to some of their equipment. Every river system south of alice springs is/has been affected. RACQ can update you.

    Stevo and I disagree often

what I was refering to if you are there by yourselves there would be little for you to do...as we have been in the past.woudn't try some tracks by yourself

On the other hand when you are there with friends there is heaps to do...tracks to explore etc etc

    thats the difference

I don't think Stevo has been there before without company

also remember if you get into difficulty this a very remote park and help would be a long way comming IF you can ring out

Call the Works Overseers at Winton, Diamantina, and Boulia Shire Councils. They will have up to date information on the condition of roads, fords, and bridges in their areas.
