    Engel Upright Fridges

I am in the process of building a camp setup / drawer system in the back of my D2, I was wondering if anyone has looked at or used the Engel Freestanding Upright Fridges?

I am looking at either the 55l or the 80l, I will use it at least once per month and a couple of times per year for extended trips for a family of 4.

If it's a fridge and it's an Engel you will never have to touch it apart from open the door to get a beer.
Like Honda Generators the hardest thing to get your head around is the price.

i have the 57 l and it is ace, uses very little power when on the battery, i made up a back and hinge front for the freezer part and it runs on number 3 it is very easy to remove so you can use it as a bar fridge in the house the only thing i would like to do is put it on a base like the ones you get for the chest type engels

QR use them for their newer locos, and they seem to survive.
That says a LOT for their quality as they have a hard hard life in locos (did I mention that they have a hard life in the locos and they get treated roughly).

    Thanks for the replies.

I have looked and thought about it a bit more and I am going to go for 2 x 40l fridges.

That way I take just the one fridge and one Oztent for the wife and I or take both fridges and both Oztents if it is the wife and I and my two boys.

I am now looking at two 40l Waeco fridges as they are slightly shorter than the Engel and I can fit one on top of the other in the disco.

    If I go Engel I can only fit a 40l and a 32l.
