every second van on the road is being pulled by a white or silver falcon on lpg isnt it?
i would be fitting an oil cooler to the auto.
it should cope just fine imho
Short version:
Will a BA falcon on LPG tow a 16’ caravan OK ?
Long Version, (if you need details):
What I would really like to know is:
Will I be flogging the engine to death up hill ? not that there’s many big hills in WA
Will it kill the gearbox?
Will I NEED a bigger transmission cooler?
Thanks

are the oil coolers still part off/connected to the radiator, my dad had a separate oiler cooler fitted from memory.....wheather its needs this done buggered if i know
other than that hitch her up and off you go
The BA is a good tow car. It has a lot more pull than my V8 D1. I've towed Boats and Vans with them and have no problems. As suggested I would be fitting a larger Trans cooler if doing long trips to be safe.
Cheers, David.

Tough car, just make sure the correct specified LPG spark plugs are fitted and you should be fine.
Falcoons do it so much easier than a V6 dunnydoore Steve.
They are EXCELLENT tow motors.
Davis Craig do upgrade auto coolers,DEFINATELY worth adding.

You have no worries. There are a few BA's that have pulled large horse floats around here for years with no dramas. Just the usual silly ford things![]()
Wot they said.
Interesting thing is that in the Falcon the auto box has a higher to rating than the manual Falcon. Go figure.
You can get transmission oil cooler upgrade kits from most better auto accessory stores. Try to get one as large as possible and put it behind the electric fans if you can.
You won't find me on: faceplant; Scipe; Infragam; LumpedIn; ShapCnat or Twitting. I'm just not that interesting.
Mine is, stupid idea, your buggered if they leak through.
If I get a landy daily driver I'll get a P38
I was a bit concerned about the weight on the bar too, might have to go for the heavier bar? I guess Im just thinking out loud here, about 400kg spare but when you load up with water and other rubbish it might be cutting it close?
Should be ok, as the wagon from memory has a leaf sprung rear end. If it was the sedan, the rear end is suspect after heavy towing. ....and that includes that excuse for a 4wd, the Territory.
