    time to crank the fire

    well with the temp dropping below zero its time to get the fire going ah nice warmth,im assuming a fair few of you have wood fires.

    yep, had a fire each night and morning for the last week (not bad for NZ). We have a warmish air about us at the moment so haven't had the woodfire fired up the last 24 hours.

    I burn black wattle (med hard) and Kanuka (hardwood) picked up after the last winters floods from the riverbed. Also have 18 sacks of pinecones. Love the fire as it also heats the water via a wet back heat exchanger. Power bill drops by up to 60%

    No wood fire but central heating earns its keep

    Yep, we could almost skate on the last two frost

    Have fired up the chain saw,spliter and fire.

    Will cold enough to fire up the ol sputnik waste oil heater at the work shop soon
