I doubt he'll have to go to the Vic roads filth as there has been no transfer of ownership. worst case i reckon is a Roady - best case is just coughing up for the rego..

Also, how long has it been out of reg? If it wasn't long (under 2 months???), normally no RWC is required to renew the reg - could be different as they took your plates

There is a 3 month grace period to pay the rego, after that the registration is cancelled, flagged on the VicRoads system and the plates can be taken from that point.

Simon, I trust a traffic car out your way got you? Colour coding each year's rego sticker sucks. PM if there is anything you need - don't have D1 parts though
