Talking of subscriptions

I have no idea why mine no longer says I subscribe. my sub doesn't end until the 27th May....

Dave do you know why it has disappeared from under my name?

Its not a big deal as I'm going to renew in 3 days anyway..however I would hate for people to think I dont support the site when I have been a silver subscriber for the last 2 years

Well, how about for a start, we just start asking everyone to click on the adverts everytime you load a new page ... 3 clicks, send them to the background, keep AULRO'ing, and when the 3x pages have loaded in the background, close 'em! ??

You've got no idea how bad these ads are with dial-up speeds (like I currently have!).

I feel like throwing the monitor at the wall.

That tends to have undesirable side effects.

I've now switched the display mode to MobiPDA to change to a text-based rather than a GUI screen whilst I'm limited to 64kbps. That helps speed things up enormously (with no images).

    Ads

I subscribe - I get an enourmous amount of benefit from this site - as soon as I worked this out I subscribed.

The ads are not that bad and some of them contain some good info. I tend to look at the ones that incite some interest - perfect advertising really.

They are nowhere near as invasive as some on the commercial newspaper sites: theage.com.au seems to have video ads that you cannot avoid (unless you avoid the site itself which I am now doing).
