    Funny story

So one of my mates came round this morning and we were talking about the misfire problem i have been having and he said lets go out and have a look

So the very first thing he did was pull the lead of one of the spark plugs and said fire it up lets see if its got spark

the sun was shinning on us under the bonnet and he couldn't really see the spark so he said give a rev so i did

Have you ever seen someone light up like a chrissy tree he got zapped a ripper about twenty times in 3 seconds he reckons could have killed he thinks

i Almost dropped dead from laughing

Don't do it on a D2 (or a P38A). With the distributor-less ignition system that's a good way to get high reflected voltages back into the engine management ECU and damage it.

If trying to work out which cylinder is misfiring, alway disconnect the fuel injector and leave the spark alone.

Years ago, when the kids were small and had guinea pigs in a cage, our cats used to take an unhealthy (for the pigs) interest in them.
I was working on the car in the garage one day, and the cats were stalking the pigs in their cage on the grass.

    1. Lift cage onto a couple of dry planks of wood.

    2. Run a wire from No.1 plug through a rubber band on the garage door, through a rubber band on a tree branch down to the wire part of the cage. (you know where this is going, don't you)

    3. Wait patiently till cat re-kindles interest in pig, when close to wire, start car.

I have never seen a cat do back-flips before, took off over the fence in a single bound.

About 1/2 hour later, a disgruntled looking cat re-appears, sees GP and automatically goes into stalk mode.

    Stops.

Backs off carefully - "Gee those little pigs can bite".

    End of problem.

    cheers

I did that once to myself accidentally on an old B&S powered shredder. Well funny in hind sight.. but I didn't think it was real amusing at the time
