You're right some are good, had a warning from one (dog on beach again ) last weekish, said he would be back in half an hour and if I was still around he'd have to give me a fine. Fair enough.

A mate of a mate, once made one eat a parking fine. didn't lay a hand on him, but there was a fair bit of intimidation involved. Still laugh when I think about it.

$22.00 for parking in a 2 minute standing zone at Townsville Airport.

Some amazing stories out there. I was unloading stock from my car into MY shop directly out the front in a loading zone. Very handy for shops they are. So this guy starts taking photos of my car and writing me up, I tell him its ok, its my shop and I am unloading. He tells me only vans can be unloaded and because it was a sedan its not permitted. I said ok sorry I didnt know (I really didnt know that at the time) so I get in the car and move it away, he has not finished writing me up so as I am merging into the traffic he is walking after my vehicle to get the rest of the details effectively writing me up when I have left the spot.

I thought he should have canceled writing me up as he had not done it while I was in position. 4 weeks later I coped the $110 fine.

im assuming a fair few of you guys saw on one of the news shows about some of the stupid councils and there fines and how a few of the councils are getting in on this

I have zero respect for parking inspectors or councils.

I got fined on christmas eve right outside the Peter MacCallum Cancer Institute where I was visiting my terminally sick grandmother.

I caught up to the dodgy degenerate parking inspector as I was leaving and certainly let him have a piece of my mind.

And for the record the parking machine did not work, he booked everyone in the street.

After many letters the melb city council thought it appropriate to grant discretion to mine and everyone else that day... many letters.

To this day it still makes me angry at both the individual and beauracracy.

To the OP, is there a "discounted rate" if you pay within 14 days?? Brings it down to $66 I think. If it's the same company I got stung by, they offered to reduce their fine for an early payment. What good natured souls...

Yep, same deal, $66 for paying it on time and the company doesn't have a phone number... for obvious reasons

What is their name? I have access to some software that accesses certain data bases tha we are not supposed to, you and I. Has been handy for finding people who don't like paying their account and move house.
