    When Dave_S and I were there in a 4BD1 110 we had to drive around hundreds of sinkholes and landslides - though not as big as that! They are a VERY regular occurrence.

    we were talking about this today in engineering and this is the first time that i have seen it i didnt expect it to be a perfect round hole the sides are vertical i was expecting it to have a bit of a slope have fun fixing that hehe

    Go and look at this one. It is very impressive, if it is the same "Big Hole" that I saw years ago, down towards Wyanbebe caves. I think I remember it being 350 foot deep on one side. Friends abseiled down, and Jumared [prussicked] out of it.

    Even the potholes in Guatemala are often big enough to swallow a landy whole. You don't drive at night in rural areas unless you have a death wish. You just never know if there will actually be road in front of you... Even in the day there can be close calls.
