Time to raise it with a government body? Is there an equivalent to the telecommunications industry ombudsmen?
It seems that with my waiting approx 19 months for my replacement GPS and over a year for the part which they think may fix my faulty stereo, that I have the record for waiting for parts from Land Rover.
I am getting very annoyed, but feel for the blokes in the office that keep getting bugged by me. It's not their fault that LR are stuffing me around so much. Not quite their words yesterday, but I left feeling that it is never going to be resolved.

Not really - but you should take it up with your state government's consumer body - in NSW it is Fair Trading, as it sounds as if it is beyond a joke. You should be clear that your complaint is with the dealer - they cannot simply pass it on to Landrover; you have not legal status with Landrover, but you do have a legal relationship with the dealer. In fact, regardless of the state legislation, you sound to have a good case under Commonwealth consumer protection legislation; the state office will advise you how to proceed. Note that you only have the dealer's word that the delay is Landrover - it could just as likely be their fault, and they are blaming Landrover.
Hopefully you have kept records of everything.

Its not just a LR thing , I have a guy at work that waited 2 years for a ac module for a vz holden and he and i work for holden
The problem being that all manufactuers source parts from cheaper suppliers ect asia and they only make enough for orders which is mainly for production not spares
This suprised me as the holden used to be a working mans car and spares were just about availble at the corner shopi guess that has,nt been the case for a long time

Yay. A win of sorts. Land Rover are not going to get the part they think is needed, but better than that they have approval for the vehicle to go spend a few days with the company that does all their external audio/visual work. They specialise in that sort of thing, they will sort it. After more than a year I am very relieved.
So thank you to Austral Land Rover.
