    Apparently, the Hayabusa spacecraft was launched in 2003 to go to asteroid Itokawa, which it reached in 2005, land on it, get some material and come back to Earth, quite an engineering feat if you ask me!! Although some links have already been posted, here is more information!!! Apparently the attempt to land on the asteroid failed but they still managed to collect some material from it!!
