    Aircon thermo

Was thinking out loud and was wondering for those hot times running out bush.Would it be possible or logical to run an alternative power supply to the aircon thermo fan and run it on a switch in cab?

yes it is, been there done that...

splice into the aircon fan power wiring with a SPDT relay have a hot feed onto the normally open leg, the fans on the center and the aircon feed on the normally closed leg.

take your signal feed for the coil of the relay from something in the engine bay thats switched with the igntion and use the control switch to make earth.

    done and dusted.

takes about 20 minutes and can help but the 2 small fans wont replace the main fan.
