    Money saved?

So....like the title says....how much money have you saved while being on Aulro? Got my truck just over a year ago now (Already) but had a p38 before that and to tell you the truth I would have lost track of all the help I've recived over the years. But to put it roughly I reckon I would have saved around the 1 - 2 grands worth which is amazing!!

Dosent have to be exact figures just in the ball park will do and a rough description on any MAJOR DIY fixes.

Hmm, spent saved an absolute fortune and receipts to prove it.

I reckon I spend about half or a little less of what it'd cost me to get a workshop to do it.

So far saved me heaps I think! This site has given me the confidence to undertake repairs, servicing etc. I'm fairly mechanically minded but have avoided working on late model stuff as I am sure many others have.

I have had a member turn up and help me through the first oil change and a few other minor dramas (thanks Alien d2).

I would not be able to get this sort of help and feedback for other vehicles I have owned, ie try getting on the net and ask for someone local for diagnostic help for your toyota or VW Golf.

When I first bought the D2TD5 the altinator died and I paid for it to be repaired partly as I needed it for the Xmas holiday trip and partly due to being a bit wary of the complicated creature that was a bit broken.

Result I think I paid at the very least 3X as much as I should have!

Works for me it would be gathering dust in the shed and if murphys law still works would have been the last spare part I ever needed just because I had a spare one.

I'm not sure it's saved me any significant amount of money, as I've only had my Landy for a few months n was a grease-monkey before, but the advice shared has been priceless.

Any major mechanical jobs I've had were hand-balled onto others because of rwc issues n weren't my problem, but I certainly feel know my way around my D1 better than I did before joining.

Suggestions, product recommendations, better ways of doing things, etc have been great, and this site has easily proven to be the best source of knowledge. It's certainly saved me time, frustrations, found better ways of doing things, what in particular to keep an eye on, and made me avoid some products which seemed ok. Personal experience speaks volumes, n the willingness for everyone to share this is impressive. Kudos to the clan!
