I have to disagree with that..... There has been an abundant amount of people helped with mental health issues on a dirt bike forum I also frequent. One bloke had the balls to out himself & write his story about "Male Depression" & all of a sudden it became the most talked about thread in a long time with about half a dozen people seeking professional help after reading it.Seems things done right, NO MATTER WHAT SUBJECT, can bring about useful results.
THANKYOU

While perhaps not what this thread seems to have "really" been about, I feel I should point out that "what AULRO is for" is different for different members - some see it as a social forum to discuss things not really related to Landrovers, some see it as a forum for offroad driving, some see it as a forum about specific models, some are only interested in ex-military Landrovers, some are interested mainly in technical aspects, some are interested in contributing, some are interested in learning, and so on.
The membership is very diverse, with the common factor being (mostly) ownership of one or more Landrovers - but some may be uninterested in anything more than three years old, others uninterested in anything less than thirty years old.
The solution to this diversity is simply to only read the threads you are interested in, and ignore the rest. If you don't like whinges, and the thread turns into one - the solution is the arrow pointing to the left, usually in the top LH corner of your screen. If you are interested, but don't like the way the thread is going - contribute, pointing out where it is wrong, but stay within the rules. If your views are persuasive, then the others will be persuaded!
