Anyone got any factory Land Rover 0 - 100 times?

I have done a bit of searching and even downloaded a Defender brochure from LRA, but nowhere can I find out what the 0-100 times are. (Hmmm - I wonder why they don't publish 0-100 for the Defender.... )

Am thinking of buying an old Merc with a 2.3 litre engine, that does 0-100 in 10.5 seconds. This sounds a bit slow for a 2.3L, but they are pretty heavy I guess.

I'd like to compare that to something real world that I know and drive every day, like a:
    - Disco 300TDi manual,
    - Defender TD5 or Puma, or a
    - Range Rover L233 Diesel

Anyone got any stats they can put their hands on to help me out?

I wasn't really expecting anything in print for the Defender, but was hopeful about the Disco or RR.

BTW - when I created this thread, one of the auto-suggested similar threads listed (the thing that tries to stop you posting a new post the same as an existing post) was the "Jokes Thread".....

    From a book I have and here: Land Rover Discovery (89-98) - Facts & Figures - Parker's

300Tdi auto Disco around 17 secs
300Tdi manual Disco around 16 secs

What model of Mercedes? Sounds pretty quick if it's old. I know everyone is quick to label 300Ds but Merc diesels fly

    2.3? Have you found a W201 diesel?

    Ah - brilliant - thanks a lot.

No it is not a Diesel. I am selling my 280CE (it is on CarSales) and have got my eye on an old W210 E230. I think it will be the same value as my 280CE but 100,000Kms less on the clock.

From memory, (can't remember from where though), the puma is something like 15.3 seconds for 0 - 60mph.

(for a stock defender you are probably better off using a calendar than a stop watch for testing 0 - 100km/h times!)

I did a 0-100 test in the NA Isuzu 110 a while back, but it was so slow even the other Isuzu nuts enthusiasts didn't believe me.

It was so slow I suspect I might have fallen asleep in the middle of it and got the time wrong.

Cant be done unless you are at one of the poles in summer! You need daylight to time with a sundial
