Unhappy ZF Auto Box making noises.

Hi Guys, I went to morgan this long week end and on my way home my auto box was making a tickerty tick tick when i put my foot down, it was the same kind of noise that an manual would make when you go slow round an corner in an too high gear, ( Sorry about the description ) Has anyone got any ideas as to what it could be or how to fix it?
Any help would really be appreciated, Thanks Brynn.

Sorry Guys, its in my 88 rangies vitesse developed 3.5 bored and stroked to an 4.2 V8 all with an Motec ECU., its strange because it doesnt appear to feel like she is slipping.

You don't mention whether it is a TDi or V8, but in either case I would remove the inspection plate (flywheel cover plate) and check that the bolts holding the torque convertor to the flex-plate are tight and in place, also check, by prising with a pry bar/ big screwdriver the flex plate and listen for any creaks, which will indicate a split flex plate, let us know what occurs, Regards Frank.
