    Yes John, our club use Willowbank in much the same way as you use Kwinana. Our club has basically stopped doing road races, except for our annual Ipswich Open because of the high cost of bringing in traffic controllers. I think our Open this year cost us around $5,000 for traffic control.

    The only differences between this and back when I was a kid is we didn't have helmets and no one had cameras everywhere so we were never caught...

    Lunch time rush,bottom of Oxford st Leederville last tuesday.
    I go to enter the roundabout,all clear.Almost run into an older gent taking a shortcut the wrong way around the roundabout,in the middle of the traffic lane.I stopped urgently to avoid him and almost get shafted from behind by a courier van.Did the loop around the roundabout and cars are stopped 50m up the road.The same cylist is dismounting in the middle of the lane and having trouble getting a foot out of his stirrup.Cars are tooting,he pushes the bike over the traffic island then proceedes to re-mount in the middle of the other lane,again stopping traffic,just to ride to the cycle shop opposite.
    No wonder cyclists get a bad wrap!!!!

    Cyclists obeying road rules, doesn't matter how "aware" you are when they ride under your heavy vehicles back wheels, they lose.

    I walk most places. Sometimes I ride the Pushy. Occasionally I'll take the motorcycle for a blat. Or I'll drive my 4wd. I guess most of the population is similar.

    I'd like to think I am a "person aware" driver!
