    Black Poly Pipe?

When for a short walk today to the local lagoon to see if I can get some new bird photos for my collection.
I got few and also find this interesting 2m lenght of black poly pipe
    The "brand" is
    Red-bellied black snake
    Species Pseudechis porphyriacus
    Family Elapidae

When the bugger turned towards me I just walked away. They are not fatal like the browns but they are nasty.

and then she give me the looks.......

If you saw a joe blake like that in the SW of WA you wouldnt get that close if you knew about them.
Ours are Tiger Snakes, have a yellow belly and are very aggresive and poisonous.

Looking for far away I was under the impression that was one of the common and dangerous brown snakes, I know them we have a lot of them in our old farm in Childers.
I have to look the close up fotos and read a bit more to be sure that not was a king brown which have simmilar nose.
It is not, the blacks have 2 temporal scale like this one instead of one like the browns and kings.

Tigers are very agressive but not as the Taipan which attacks a ride on lawn mower or any other machine
    Cheers

I once squashed a big Tiger Snake with the vibe roller.
It crossed the road up ahead, when I got close it chased the drum with its head up in the air like a Cobra.Vibe Roller 1,Snake 0.

Come on sooky, Tigers are just misunderstood little critters About as dangerous as Cassie
In all honesty all the ones I have seen down here have been rather dosile, same with the little dugites we used to pick up at Ravy all the time.
The only aggressive tigerlily I have seen down here was trapped in a dam, we gave him a plank of wood to get out and he was one happy little vegemite.

    Cats in bins are worse.

Great pics but it looks more like a Tiger or maybe a Copperhead, but I am leaning towards tiger especially around water.
The Red Bellied Blacks I have seen usually have an all black head and the red is very visible form the ventral (sides).
Regardless keep up the great pics and most snakes are ok if not aggravated.

Also in the second shot the area behind the head has flattened, usually means they are a little upset or frightened.

When do they hibernate up there? We haven't seen any in this part of the world for months.
