Moderation on OTHER forums....

Hey I tell you what, this Forum has some strange rules also. A few months ago I made a posting here and thinking I was doing the right thing I used a swear word and put astrisks in the appropriate parts only to recieve a PM titled stating that I had transgressed and I thought "What have I done that is so bad", I had dodged the swear filter and now when look up my personal information, there is an "Infraction" there. On PMing the moderator involved I was ignored!!! Probably a miner issue in the overall run of things but what gets up my nose is that I thought I was doing the right thing and when I queried the infraction I was ignored!!!

That's because you should just type the swear word and let the swear filter do the rest

Take it as a sign of respect. The Moderator involved probably thought you'd been around the place long enough to have read the rules and know how the place works.

And looking at the post in question, you could still understand exactly what you meant.

A forum my wife visits doesn't allow any of the above, and on top of that you aren't allowed to mention any brand name or the price of an item.

On a pommy forum - was not allowed to say 'damn' but could say 'bugger'.

Ali Read had to step in once and save my behind as apparently I nearly became persona non grata on one of the Pommy forums once for using the term '******'

One of the US based boards I'm on has no politics, no religion and no swearing, including damn, hell, ass, etc and you will get caned if you use any of those terms.
It has very little humour (or humor) either. Bit sad really, but that are the rules of the owner, so fair enough.

Of course the Aussies and Kiwis use arse instead

Oh, and it looks like I've been refused access to another forum I tried to join last week.

Look I understand what you guys are saying but the PM was just sooooo offensive, I did not rob a bank I just innocently stepped over the line, and as a person who likes to follow the rules it seems that infraction is there permantley which I do not like, makes me feel like a criminal!!! I think a PM saying that I had infracted would have been sufficient and of cause if I stepped over the line again, go for it, I would understand!!!

Hey this is about moderation on OTHER forums. We don;t need to rehash your little PM issue here.

Anyway back to my story it get's better (beleive it or not)..

ha ha ha it gets BETTER..

People were giving me heaps re my Landy (fair enough I posted the rollover pic for alaugh coz I have a sense of humour though that is apparently unwelcome!).

Anyway someone captioned my photo as:

Landie trys to **** its leg on small tree....

to which I replied...

Whilst from the Mother country, no Landy would "**** its leg" on any part of this fine colony. No, if it were going to urinate anywhere it would be one of the following colonies...
Pakistan, Nigeria, Rwanda, Uganda, or Saint Kitts and Nevis.

to which the moderator has now said...

Anything that has politics in it is not welcome on our forum. This includes your previous post listing international countries where we have members from. Our forum is an international one, so please be a bit more careful with what you post.

If in doubt...ask.

Hmm so apparently one can't list countries either in case someone from that country is offended.

Since the mod has said "If in doubt just ask" do you think I should PM him EVERY post that I intend to make and ask him if it's alright to post ?

Yeah i got 2 of them for the same thing.. Funny thing is i use the word everyday to my kids & its not a swear word but a word i choose to use instead ......
