I did not produce that chart, and neither agree or disagree with its conclusions. I have not studied the subject enough to make a conclusion on what this says about changing weather. I would not ever used or produced such a chart myself.

It is a known fact that animals like crocodiles show growth rings in their bones, showing climate change. Bones grow faster when they are feeding a lot, slow in Winter when they are not feeding, etc. It has been found that fossil bones do not show these growth rings hence we once had a stable climate.

As far as climate change goesI am more interested in the un-deniable fact that Antartic was maped accurately by modern man well before it was covered by Ice [so accurately that the USA Navy corrected their charts using the Ancient Map], that the ancient Chinese traders sailed through the Artic Ocean around the top of North America, that Ancient Chinese traders bought back Tomatoe seeds from the Americas--from these trading voyages???, that Greenland's Inland Forests where known to the first Viking Settlers, that In Sibera were found a Mamoth Scull with an bullet hole through it that killed that Mamoth, etc.

Then why do you present it as evidence of something?

I'm not sure those "facts" are undeniable.

The sources that I am aware of that make those claims have been shown to be very unreliable.

What is your source for those "facts"?

It's still my belief that climate change or what ever you may want to call it only exists because it is profitable. If there wasnt money to be made out of it then we wouldnt hear about it.

Both sides keep putting forward conflicting evidence but one side has a lot more money behind it.

Yep, the old saying... "one man's muck is another man's brass" springs to mind.

As for conflicting evidence; such is the nature of argument. If it wasn't thus, it'd be no fun at all...

    My tuppence worth FWIW:

Whether or not you believe that extra CO2 from burning fossil fuels leads to the enhanced greenhouse effect (Causing global warming and leading to climate change) there is the undeniable fact that fossil fuels are a limited resource. Just look at the problems that our love for oil has caused in the Gulf of Mexico and Iraq... An alternative source of energy has to be found sooner or later.

If the climate change skeptics are right we can put off the change for 50 or so years without much harm to the environment but there will still have to be a change.

If the climate change skeptics are wrong and the majority of the scientific community are right (and personally I think this is more likely ), then we should make this change, that has to be made anyway, ASAP to prevent further damage to the environment. If we don't the planet could be stuffed!

Note: You don't have to sail through the Arctic Ocean to bring items from America to China. In fact during the Northern Winter you can walk from China to the North American Continent, by crossing the Bering Sea, IVECO have even triven a few trucks across it.

As to the sailing through the Arctic Ocean, last time I was in Vancouver I visited the RCMP Schooner St Roch in the Vancouver Maritime Museum that had sailed The Northwest Passage both directions (Hudson Bay to Vancouver). Granted it took a couple of years waiting for the summer melt to achieve the feat, however it's task was policing the Canadian North-West Territories not the crossing itself.

Whether the chinese did it or not I am unaware, but there have certainly been a lot of fictional stories published over the centuries, so I can not be sure this aint one!

You won't find me on: faceplant; Scipe; Infragam; LumpedIn; ShapCnat or Twitting. I'm just not that interesting.

Because of course it wouldn't be possible to shoot one found already frozen in the ice, would it.
