    Looks like another Darien Gap veteran. Maybe the one travelling together with the Range Rovers?

    Where - same as Jojo, when - the Range Rovers left Alaska on the 3rd December 1971 & why was it un-sung? Because it did the hard trail blazing & the Rangies got the glory.

    I have the book Land Rover, Workhorse of the World, by Graham Robson, and it has that exact photo. I got the book when I was young and always wondered why the man driving was so small. Now I look at it he is probably standing beside it reaching in to steer.

    Combined full marks to Jojo, Larry and Jeff. The vehicle is indeed the SWB Series Landie brought in to blaze the trail in the 1971-2 British Trans-Americas Expedition when the transmission of the Range Rovers kept on breaking.
