And while we are on the subject, a few Prado/Lexus people are getting a bit upset about the dash in their vehicles....

From the SMH:
A potential issue with seatbelt buckles has forced Toyota to issue a recall on its mighty LandCruiser four-wheel-drive.
It may be one of the biggest, toughest four-wheel-drives on the road, but Toyota's LandCruiser off-roader has been recalled for a potential fault with the seatbelts.
While the LandCruiser is one of the biggest selling four-wheel-drives on the market and a vehicle synonymous with off-roading, the recall - which also affects cars sold in other countries - affects only 18 cars sold in Australia.
The recall affects the latest 200-Series LandCruiser GXL models manufacturer between May 6 and May 25 this year.
A statement issued to the Federal Government and published on the Recalls.gov.au website says "there is a possibility that the front seatbelt buckles may have been damaged during manufacture" which means "the seatbelt may be prevented from engaging".
Because the cars would only have been sold recently Toyota will be contacting owners directly to arrange for replacement of the front seatbelt buckles.
While recalls are commonplace around the world (there are typically two or three vehicles recalls issued each week in Australia) those involving Toyota have been under the media spotlight due to the highly publicised global recall involving almost 10 million vehicles.
While only 2378 Toyota Prius hybrid cars were affected in Australia, the negative publicity has forced Toyota to review its quality and methods of dealing with recalls.
More recently, Toyota's luxury brand, Lexus - which built its reputation on quality - has been forced to issue recalls on a number of its models.

Here is one from an unhappy 200 owner.
Toyota 200 Series VX LandCruiser - Disaster @ ExplorOz
Geez, I would be unhappy too!!!!

That is disgraceful!! I'm not a member of that site so couldn't leave a comment but I really feel for him. Sounds like a self funded retiree put his trust and $$$ in a vehicle that SHOULD've lasted him out
In response to the problems he encountered, I too have seen chassis replacements on 200's, a HUGE labour bill to Toyota, and excessive V8 oil consumption issues.(A Disco owning friend of mine works for the Police dept here and although he likes driving them, he has way more faith in his '97 D1 Tdi
)
I'd be very unhappy also
