There will never be a best time. The speculation was that the AUD was going to peak at 1.10 or something and it never came within cooee of that and is now .28 from that point now. For the cost of the HH, it wont make a lot of difference to the landed cost between now and a month or two ago and probably into the near future. Actually the forecasts are for the AUD to USD to be very stable between now and the start of 2011 with predictions that it wont get much better (or worse) - perhaps look for the savings in shipping.

I just bought some non car related stuff a few days ago. By the time I clicked pay to the time they actually charged my card I lost $27 based on the exchange rate, I still saved about $400 by not using a local retailer though.

If you have the money and they have what you want just get it and worry about the what ifs later.

I paid for some gear from a shop in England but they couldn't supply. By the time they refunded my money (about 3 weeks all up) I made $12. That includes the MasterCard exchange fee.

Reason I asked was from last night to now the paypal exchange had it going up $18. Not much, but significant as a percentage.

The HH will be great with the kayak... you can't half tell I'm already dreaming of summer!
