Thread: Medical Imaging in Melbourne

Clearly off topic question.

Has anyone had any CT/MRI in Melbourne lately that has nice new machines? Perhaps a private clinic somewhere and not in a public hospital?

If you need a MRI, why not ask your GP if they can mark the request form with Medical Benefits Only.

Most providers of CT & MRI will see this & accept the Medicare & any private health insurance payments as full payment for the account.

Last year, I had to have a series of expensive scans, and when I brought this up with the GP, (along the lines of "and how much is THIS going to cost") he offered to do this for me.

I agree that the reporting is the most important, but if a specific machine is needed for a specific scan, most GP's will send you to the most appropriate imaging provider.
