    Hi Pat

The extended warranty can be purchased now but does not take effect until the factory warranty has lapsed, either by time or amount of kms i.e 3 year/100,000kms.

Please don't hesitate to contact me to discuss further.

    Regards,

    Hi guys,
My name is Khan Stephenson. I work at Platinum Direct Finance. Yesterday I received a call from a gentleman from South Australia asking about extended warranties and saying he had found out about Platinum Direct Finance from an old forum thread via a google search.
This lead me here, as the above people in this thread no longer work for Platinum. I am more than happy to assist with any questions related to warranties on both vehicles still under the manufacturers warranty, and those that have fallen outside of the manufacturers warranty.

I don't believe you can tell how good "extended warranty/ breakdown roadside assist" is until you actually use/need it.
I live in a country town and car transport is ESSENTIAL so we took out extended warranty and roadside assist with a large well known business thinking it would help the missus if she ever needed it.
The starter **** itself in town and the missus called the Roadside assist and they sent the local NRMA to get her going enough to get her home.
Rang this insurer and said I wanted to make a claim to have a new starter fitted.
Was told that they would send an assessor around in 3 or 4 weeks and if he approved , the car would have to be towed to their nearest approved workshop in Wollongong about 200klms away, then I might have to wait 2 weeks to have the car repaired.
I told these people that I was a mechanic and that I could do the job myself, all I wanted was the cost of the starter motor about $100.
Was told no, do it their way or not at all, asked to cancel policy and have my money refunded, told that the contract says no refunds.
I wouldn't trust these insurance companies or Brokers as far as I can spit, they spend more of your money to avoid paying on a claim than they actually spend on claims.
Read the fine print, cause I promise you you will regret it when the time comes to collect, and these Brokers that have all just popped up on the Forum, shouldn't they be in the Vendors section and subscribed as Vendors, instead of getting free advertising, Regards Frank.
