Yep, I've been saying this for years. Volvo drivers have been the automotive scapegoat in this country for years. It is interesting to note that in the 50's, 60's Volvo PV544's, 122S's and P1800's were viewed as highly desirable performance cars. And they were. They won more rallys and endurance events that I can mention here. Don't try to tell me that the new Volvo range is any different. Here are the facts. Volvos are safe, reliable, luxurious, economical, well engineered and some are wickedly fast too. I've seen Volvo 2l 4cly 16V turbo drag engines in Sweden punching out 1000hp. Apart from my Disco, we have 2 other cars both Volvos (98 V40T and my '69 1800S) and I love them. Never had a bad experiance with a Volvo driver, it has always been the Commodore driver or the old fart in a Toyota something................

i dont mind volvos these days but i like the country where they are made alot more

dunno about volvo drivers up here, theyve been replaced by bloody prado drivers

Right.This is a bit like meeting at A A .Hi my name is Hall and I owned a Volvo. Did too for real. It was a light blue 1977 256 model. It was this era Volvo that gave them a bad rep. The motor was a family motor,as in used by many European cars. Was a 2.7 low compression V6 from maybe Citroen? The motor Volvo had before was a inline 3ltr 6 cyl Volvo motor that aperantly went like all get out. The V6 was a boat anchor at best. The Volvo was way to heavy for this motor. Hence why they were noted for being rather slow getting arround. Was`nt so much the driver, but more a lack of go. After canning this motor to get at least a modest speed of the lights it died. I put a later series of this motor in and all was well. There was a 4 cly motor as well, a 2.4 ltr volvo unit that was about the same as the V6 in perfromance.Great car though. Much like the Range rover in being way a head of it time compared to cars here. On paper it compared closly to the 90`s Commodore we had,pity it did not have the same size motor.

I've had loads....
Rallied 164's 244's and 242's
Had everything from 120's to a V40 with every model in between...including a 264 with a Getrag M50....

I love them as they are safe, fun and strong....
Many times ive had a near miss or a incident and i can say, im still here due to OVLOVs

Even my county has volvo parts.....
