I heard on talk back radio last week that the 4k error margin has been denied by the RTA, they are sticking to the present margins. (Thats if you believe every thing you hear on talk back radio, so I would suggest caution)!!!!

We have these things in the ACT for many, many years. After a while you will learn to recognise the cars parked on the side of the road (we have white Merc vans) and where they hang out. After a while they will only catch tourists and people who are not paying attention.

Just slow down for any white Territiory parked on the side of the road. Do not do what some wags did in Canberra - they crept up on the van and removed its number plates and placed them on another vehicle and then sped back and forth past the camera car (now without its number plates). The RTA received a whole bunch of speeding infringements by the van - it had booked itself.

The vehicles now have a sign warning people to remain clear of the camera vehicle etc.

You Canberra types need to harden up !

We have all sorts and colours of cars here. Used to be you could tell because they were alwaysnew cars now they use everything from Mercedes cars to old clunkers.

We had them before in NSW but they had to be marked and sign posted by ministerial decree not law after a certain police minster was ambushed on a radio programme on wether they were revenue raising or a safety device they were soon said not to be cost effective ( they only paid for themselves in a week) and were taken out of service now they are unmarked and no longer police operated its back to revenue raising I think

It was made with version 7, so quite likely its because you have an older version. No problems opening with 9.2.

At work I can often not open pdf's due to WA Dept of Health thinking version 5 is still ok. Don't get me started on Microsoft Office 2000.

I wonder if mobile speed cameras have any effect on safety at all? If anything I think they'd increase the risk of a crash due to the slamming on brakes and the car behind not realising quick enough!

Geez guys, GET OVER IT! Down here in the nanny state, the tolerance is 3kmh! They knock off 3 klicks from your recorded speed and book you if you are over AT ALL! Many a motorist has been booked at 63 in a 60 zone here.
Funny thing they did down here too.... they renamed them from Speed Cameras, to Road Safety Cameras. And now the road toll is increasing anyway.
Our state budget depends on $575 million in speed camera revenue to balance
But it is all about safety isn't it?
