I'm not disagreeing - but in what way? "Feels so much better" - surely not! :p

The iPhone4 is fantastic for texting :D I hate text shorthand - probably as much as Ron ;) - and I have always been annoyed at how long a text would take me to type in. I know this isn't just an iPhone thing and that other smartphones (never had one before) are also much just as easy to enter a proper understandable message, so why don't people do this
Can also do it from iTunes files. Maximum 40sec grab. Easy to do on Mac or PC.
Now have several new ringtones :)
Regarding ringtones on the iPhone - if you've got a spare $1.19 you could also use this app: Ringtone Designer Pro
Looked at that but it's so easy to do I couldn't see the point in buying the app.
I'm thinking of getting an iphone4 to replace an old LG phone, but I've been told that you can only video call using wifi.
Is this true, as my old LG doesn't need the internet to video chat with my missus when I'm away from home. Just uses telstra.
Yes it is true. I do hope they open this ability up in the future.
The Facetime application in the iPhone is presently the only way to video call and requires WiFi. I think this application is a little like the iPad and a number of other things from Apple, Google et al. They are all tip of the iceberg of what the future holds. The Facetime app is very clever in that it drops the phone call and switches to WiFi. Whilst this isn't great use unless your friends have iPhone4's the idea cannot sit well with the telco's that phones can revert to WiFi rather than stay on the mobile bands.
Thanks dmdigital, much appreciated.
'Techs' in the Telstra shop aren't too clued up on this......even a local expert asked me to call him back (on my old LG) to see if we could video chat outside of wifi!
Shame really, as I mostly work out at sea where we are sometimes within range for Telstra, but obviously there is no free Maccas wifi in the area.
Anyhoo, still tempted as I like all things apple :D
love facetime...
i get to talk to my grandkids all the time on it....
