    bluetooth in-car phone

hey all, we've recently bought claire a new car - focus xr5 turbo and it has one of them bluetooth stereo things in it - but we can't work out how to connect the phone to it. the user manual says you can do it, but doesn't tell you how.
does anyone have one of these cars or know how to do it?
the phone is a nokia internet thing - e71
were kind of technophobes so if you can, keep it simple
    thanks

I get my kids to do it for me Jase. Way too complicated for me, that stuff.

And anyway - I didn't know that you could go rock climbing in a Focus .....
    Cheers .........

Ok. A bit tricky thru the wonders of the internet, but here goes.

The stereo needs to be placed into "discover" mode or similar. That will be in the manual, under a heading similar to "pairing a phone"

The phone also needs to have bluetooth switched on. In the bluetooth menu, there will be a function to pair the device.

Once both the stereo & phone are in "discover" mode, they should connect. You may have to enter a code into the phone, usually 888 or 0000. If the stereo outputs a code, it will be in the manual.

My guess is if you are able to get the stereo to start the search, then the problem is in the phone. Make sure search hasn't timed out, as they may only be active for a couple of minutes without discovering a new device.

See how you go, and let me know how far you get.
