Really got to ask yourself... what is it worth to you?
I am looking at getting another RRC.
This is a tricked up truck, 90 model with 400000od km, although I am told the only thing that has done these k's is the chassis
4l D2 bottom end with a ZF auto and LT230 transfer
maxi drives back and front body lift spring lift etc etc etc. 15 by 8 query 35's on the wheels,
Is there a way to price these, the owner says he has spent over $30000 on it,
it is full engineered.
Thanks,

To be honest---
Think this way.
O.K All cars need a motor, transfer box and diffs.
They are tricked up well and good but they are there and for the tricky bits its not much more in reality.
He may even get more money if he parts it out.
Many people would not even think of driving a RRC with 35's. Not every day anyhow.
Lets say its a 89 model, than it will probably fetch $6-9k.
If its a soft dash and he done a full job like that he may get abused or loved as they are getting rare now but $8-12k I would think.
The 4L motor is also not much chop, if it had a high compression 4.6 or bigger with haltech, cam and head work with gas injection etc than we are talking but a 4L you can get for $2k most days.
They are my thoughts and experience from owning 8RRC's and always spending a bucket on them and than when just right I get bored or see another project.
Such is life
A mate is selling his Patrol because he needs the money, he droped $22k at ARB and others. He will never get that back, not even close. I tried to tell him to keep original gear and swap it off if he ever sells but no.
Now he will loose big time.![]()

Red book is all he will get trade regardless of extras. I would consider offering Red book plus 10-20% if it is what you are after. A lot depends on what you think is a fair price too.
The reality is I probablly would not sell my Fender because of that very reason. If it came to it I would part it out.

Is is what I was thinking but thought I would ask thanks
This is very good food for thought.
I did wonder that about the engine, it does have an after market pickyback chip from Graham coopers, he did the difs as well, LRA supplied the rest.
From looking around I have found that it is about a fair price from all reports and he hinted a lot that he is very flexible on price. I also liked someone's comment on the forum (sorry can't remember who it was) if it breaks just buy another one and swap the bits over.
Now only to find the money![]()
Bear in mind that with all the mods the milage will be very hard miles.
If you don't like trucks, stop buying stuff.
I sold my 94 ES discovery recently and all I could get was 11K. Stock these go for about 5-8K. Build cost as more than 30K plus the car.
It had
4.6ltr (done 20,000 km)
F&R lockers & axles
gas injection (6K and less than 12 months old)
Highmount winch with uprated motor plasma etc (5K)
big tyres
flared guards
one off custom ARB built bull bar
4.11 diff ratios
etc
etc
etc
Someone has bought themselves a very good reliable and, when you consider the build cost, cheap discovery .Yeah I could have got a stack more parting it out but I couldn't be bothered with the hassle and being left with half a car. As said by big guy the car had to have almost all of these things anyway so the added value to the car is far less than there purchase and install price as I have taken something off to add it.
That is a good point that I had not thought of
This is what I am hoping with this buy. I would think that after puting a lot of years worth of money and time into the rig it IMHO (without ever done it) it would/could be heart breaking to part out your prised rig.
