Hi Kyle
Would have to agree Shepard x Malamute she looks good, will put up a post of our new addition soon.
I'm with the other couple... definitely (possibly) akita/alsatian cross
I know all the traits of malamutes as mine shows most of them... i lover her dearly and she is the most beautiful dog that any of my family have owned... though would never have anotherAm planning on having an Akita sooner or later once i have more land to accommodate one.

BTW one test of Malamute is to look under the outer fur.
Is there an underlayer of fine whitish mohair like fur?
If so I hope you have a very effective vacuum cleaner as they moult PROFUSELY in spring.
My sons Rotty/malamute cross was black and tan, but had the underfur.

Hi Kyle
Heres a pic of our new one, hope they get on?
Yeah i'd hedge my bets towards Malamute x Shepherd.
The colours definitely seem to come from a Sable Shepherd. As far as the shape of her head goes the Shepherd breed is widely broken into East German and West German dogs. West Germans tend to be leaner and smaller boned with a pointer narrow face (they are also mad as a hat but that's another story). The East German dogs are bread for their size and calmer and more even temperament. I would say yours is from an East German dog, I've seen very similar heads on a pure bread East German Shepherd. And well the tail screams Malamute.
Very nice looking dog, have fun.
Mark
What ever it is, it's a nice looking animal that's found a home.
It might be a Solihull Shepard , one that marks it's territory![]()
