Just thought I'd share part of my day.
Myself & 5 other mates, each in a 4WD each decided that even tho it was wet we would do have some fun... which lead to me using my winch for the first time.
As I came up a steep track I got thrown sideways going over a small log that was across the ruts, at which point I decided it was safest to attach the winch to a tree & straighten up & decided what to do from there. In the end I winched up about 50 meters & then after trying to crawl up - planted the foot on the 4.6lt that is wedged in my Rangie & get up using raw power... PPPOOOOWWWWEEERRRRRR!! As Jeremy from topgear would say
In total I used 4 different winch spots at one stage requiring an extension strap for the winch. Off the second winch point where it was nearly angled @ 45c - it started to tilt the Rangie & lifted the front passenger wheel up, Mates said for a second it was on two wheels tilting it pretty far, but of course I gently let it down as I felt it lift.
For a first real life winching - it was alot of fun but very tense with safety always first. Enjoy the pics!![]()
