Vision again!
I have been having trouble with the epithelial layer of my eyes drying out, and then scraping off in my sleep. It is very painful when this happens, and takes a few days to "heal". Only to happen again in a few weeks time. The ointments are a pain, as I can't see with it in, and affects my vision in the morning also. The treatment was to remove the epithelial layer, then laser the cornea of the eye. This roughen's up the surface for the epithelial layer to adhere to. If this was being done, why not correct my myopia (far sightedness) with the laser also. So under the laser I went on Friday. Only had pain on Sunday (all of Sunday!!), and my vision is steadily improving. Can now see more than a meter from my face without glasses for the first time in over 40+ years.
I can now see well enough to drive, and read although it is still blurry. Not bad for 3 days after surgery! Anyways, my vision will continue to improve for the next 6 months, but already close to what it was before surgery, and with glasses, so I'm a happy camper.
Thanks for letting me gloat,
Cheers,
Ken
