I was only having this discussion with a Canuck au pair two days ago.
The poor thing has only been in Aussie ten months and her family and friends are giving her grief as they can't understand the idioms via Skype and facebook she's already picked up
She doesn't even realise she's doing it.
It was great to hear here say "yeah, no worries" and to the littley she was looking after "yes, that's Rick's ute"![]()
