Bad news again from Afghanistan =(

Two more Aussie Soldiers Killed on ops yesterday

    Rest in peace Digs

    They shall grow not old,
as we that are left grow old:
    Age shall not weary them,
    nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun
    and in the morning,
    We will remember them.

    The ultimate sacrifice
My young bloke is adamant he wants to join the regular army next year. he is currently in cadets and he and his best mate want into the commando's. I'll back him all the way, but it's got the missus quite worried. Condolences to all the families involved.

    Rest in peace guys

Vale again to those young diggers. It still sticks in my craw that our soldiers lose their lives in such a gutless way i.e. hidden bombs by gutless wonders.

All our service men and women in all parts of the world do a top job and deserve our respect and admiration for the amazing things they do for us.

    Lest we forget.

MATE JUST GOT BACK FROM HAWAI'I...

over there every tour apparently begins with request that any soldiers, sailors or airforce pers., or police or firies- serving or retired to stand and they get a round of applause for their service which is apparently pretty heartfelt!!

said this was on all tours not just Pearl Harbour etc...

I think that current ADF personnel wil soon be wearing the same type of stickers that the Vietnam Vets wear on their cars etc (the fruit salad stickers) and so they should - proudly... but there will be so many variations...

(East Timor, Solomon Isl, Iraq, Afghanistan etc etc and the all combinations of same.)

i have no doubts whatsoever about our armed services personnel, they are amongst the best, l just have serious doubts about our politicians and the reasons they provided for risking the lives and health of our serving personnel, l don't think we are doing any good in Afghanistan and we won't change the course and history of that country by being there.

Bring them home and lets try and find another solution for the worlds problems

I have a lot of respect for what our service members do. I support what they are trying to do over there and believe in them being there.
I do not have any respect or faith in the upper command though and would love to remove, punch quite a few of them but my views are well known around where I work which is why they don't ask me questions anymore.
