Can't say I disagree with what you say but for me it's once bitten twice shy and so the ST's are on the way out ...

Love the way you got your gutters to match the clour of your rig.

    That's dedication.
    Repair looks good mate.

Gutters arrived in 1998 - matching vehicle search took 10 years

Your D2's looking mighty fine there Stuuu, bet you're glad to have it back!

I know full well the frustrations of how long it takes to get parts up here...it does my head in! I can understand a slight delay cos of the distance out to your way, but the insurance company sure didn't help things along at any decent pace. Got to love administrative red-tape and lack of common-sense eh?

Having to wait 3 weeks for a clutch master and slave cylinder for my D1 to arrive really tested my patience, but now I get the true meaning of NT! Not Today, Not Tomorrow, Next Tuesday, Next Thursday, Next Truck, Next Train, blah blah!

    how bazaar.

they sell lots, some love them some hate them.
and I hate them, so i dont buy them, had to many mates get them and think they are crap, been off road with plenty of people who use them on all sorts of vehicles and on each occasion they performed poorly. The shaley roads around here seems to tear them to shreds, but hey, everyone is entitled to like them or not like them. I choose not to like them and as a result have never, and will never, buy a set.

The only thing people have ever said good about them to me is that they get good km's out of them, but thats because they are hard tyres, which is why the shaley tyres here shread them to pieces. The ST-C is an improvement but they wear quickly because they just softened the compound to reduce the chipping of the tread compound.

Mickey Thompson on the other hand, they come out of the same factory and they make a great tyre. Had a set of MTX's, awsome all round all terrain tyre. Matt

After 20 years in north-east Arnhem Land you sort of expect it.

The attitude towards work up here frankly gives me the sh*ts. I've been able to get parts sent from Germany in 3 days or parts from Melbourne overnight, so I know anything can be done with enough initiative. Hearing excuses of weeks or months to get parts or service/repairs doesn't cut it with me, cos I've been in that game too long. Sadly there are very few who understand the concept of an acceptable turn-around time in the Territory...there aren't enough rockets to stick under most locals to make them flinch and get anything done.

I was due to leave this week with an offer back in Victoria, but had a last-minute offer with Repco as a manager here, so feel free to hit me up for anything you need mate. I'll get it quick-smart and help you on price.

Anyway...back to drooling at your D2!

I'm in Palmerston, so only a short drive up the Stuart to Darza. I've got a D1 btw.

Seeing as I'll be up here for a while longer, we'll have to tee-up a time to catch up so you can show me around Arnhem Land!
