english Comprehension Test New Zealand style

Argh! the land of the long white cloud where I had a mispent youth chasing pretty girls, some of them could even spell their names. I do sometimes miss the old country and then I hear something like this and I change my mind.

Never mind I have heard some pretty dumb things said on radio over here ...even on TV ...there is this one bloke who makes her sound bright. I think his name is Katter ...Bob Katter.

Oh that's right she wasn't smart enough to win Pizza and now everyone knows it and is laughing at her, but someone with the same ability to explain himself is good enough to be one of three to be deciding who will next govern the country.

I formally apologise to Bob Katter for my previous remarks.

I listened to him yesterday and he made sense. Not a lot ot sense, but much more then the other two amigo's who sounded like noddies, especially that tall wing nut with the manic grin from up the coast. Beyond a doubt he truly loves the sound of his own voice.

I bet he records his own TV and then goes home and self gratifies himself while listening and watching his own self serving diatribe.

Again sorry Bob I had you wrong!

I watched Bob on Q&A last night. He does get a bit "emotional" when he speaks, doesn't he. But most of what he said - he was right about. I haven't seen much of him before (he doesn't often make the news over here) and have only heard / read other people's opinions of him. From what I've seen of him so far - he's out there - but he seems to make sense to me.

I thought this was going to be a thread on how to speak "New ZILUND"

you know:
*- S=sucks (the number after 5)
*- B=Bull (presented to be paid after service)
*- C=Cuds (you know...children)
*- T=Tin (the number after 9)
*- A=Arm (the word uttered when thinking)
*- U=Undies (the west undies are a good cricket team)
*- L=Lust (something to write before shopping)
*- R=Rung (a peice of jewellery for your finger)
*- O=One Doze (a piece of glass in a building)


I 'spose I'll just have to depend on "babelfish" to translate this Kiwi speak! :)

Yep Kiwispeak but our prime minister will not need subtitles and a interpreter when he meets Obama unlike Julie Ozzie speak is very interesting!!!!

I agree chances are it will really confuse the bugger out of poor old Obama when Julia starts talking about Mr Wabbit and the Leberall Parrty.

Obama could be forgiven for thinking he has a crossed phone line and some one has by mistake put him through to Alice in Wonderland more then the Australian prime minister.

I must admit it is good to see a Welshman (sorry person) as 'our Julia' is speak Australian so fluently. ;)

I`ve heard that in N Z there is a museum where they keep all the vowels they don`t use. :)

what are vowels? never heard of them?

Aren't Vowels little furry rodent type creatures that live in holes in the ground in the dark?
