I agree with the supervision thing, i wasnt teaching the class, and there were less than 10 of them in a small room. They had to cut the steel, weld the handle on and then grind the edges to a sharp point and it was not picked up by the teacher

LOL, i had a period off so was helping another teacher with a cooking class cooking spring rolls cause I was hungry

hey that was a kewl , precise answer and I bet you will make a really great teacher, please stick with it because lots of youngsters do care about school and their future and you are just the right person to guide them.

i will make one,oh derek at singleton automotive i dont knwo if you know him or know much of him but he sold his gas tek system for $2million and he is quitting there so i wonder what he will do

I have met Derek, he is on this Forum also isn't he?, his brother is under the name of "Woko" only posts in the Freelander section and very knowledgeable on Freelanders to. Woko did a bit of work on my Freelander!!!

actually apparently they are trying to make a new curriculum a national one and they plan on getting rid of all industrial subjects except for dnt so the teachers that teach those subjects have to get retrained

well last class on tuesday and was just doing other stuff today went to the pub with one of my teachers he shouted our class lunch and then tomorrow we have our muck up day will get some photos of that for sure then friday is our final assmebly then just study and hsc left until no more school until uni that is

yeah they are both on but as far as i know derek doesnt get on much i have spoken to woko abit on here though he doesnt have a landy atm tho maybe again soon

Hi mildred, I taught for 6 and a half years and I would most likely be teaching still if the Department of Education would stop making it impossible to go just that. There is so much crap now about assessing kids with standardised tests (hence the whole NAPLAN debate some time back), then they go through phases as to how material should be delivered so you are expected to write all your lessons to match this, then 6 months later they change it all and you have to change all your lessons plans again.

With my new job i get plenty of week days off so i do a bit of casual teaching cause I still enjoy working with the kids and now i dont have to put up with all the crap the DET puts on full time teachers. I can walk in, teach the kids and leave at the end of the day.

Each teacher has their own teaching style and method, its impossible to standardise this. Give me a syllabus and let me engage the kids how I see fit, each class and each student learns in a different way.

In the end I got sick of the **** and joined the cops, still dont get any respect but at least now i can carry a gun and a taser
