after leaving Airlie Beach we made our way to Cairns and did a few little stops at the big things.

Is it called the Capricorn Coast along there anyway it was really nice drive lots of rain forests and bananas.
We got to Cairns at around 3pm I think and we ended up staying there for 2 weeks or so.
It was our intention to move there and get jobs but we couldnt get jobs and to be honest I was not all that keen on the place as far as living there but visiting was great

we were lucky to get a last minute flight for 40% of the full rate just because we were in the reception on the computers when they came in so we said sure why not and had less then 5 minutes to go back to the tent and get ready.
I think from memory it was $110 each for a 1 hour flight which was good but The small planes do get a bit stuffy and because the other people who were on the plane with us were french tourists the staff were being all occa like, very annoying
I thought the flight might have been better but still quite happy for the money.

A few days later we decided to go to cape trib to see what it was like, we stopped at some gorge along the way which was really nice and clear.

cape trib was good , nice driving through there.
I wasnt sure what the sign meant I thought it was bit like those ones that say dont feed the wildlife but up there the cassowaries must have a drinking problem so I decided not to give them any

and of course the crappy old land rover

One of the things my gf did when she was there last time was snorkeling on the reef which she said was really good so we thought we would go out for a day snorkeling and we did decide to try scuba diving too.
which I must admit took me a few moments to get use to the breathing.
here are some pictures from there and some videos but unfortunately the videos did not work out that great and some of the photos did not either
