Loverely bit of country, there Tony. The rain has certainly freshened it up.

it is very nice there at the moment , last week it was very dry and there was hardly any water in the creeks and gullies. , we have had about 8 inches of rain in the last 2 weeks which has really helped

Well it has been a long time between posts on here, but finally something to say.
I have finished uni and got 82% (3 marks shy of a HD) for my research project which I was fairly happy about.
I had my first day as a paid employee today which went fairly well.
I am on a 1 term contract where I teach k-6 PE. I also am teaching k,1,5,6 classes at different points, so a little all over the place but a great experience.
Best part is I can now buy parts for my Land Rovers.
The shed is just about to get built so I will get a car hoist (not sure yet whether a 2 post clear floor or a 4 post but will have to be on 240v).
I plan on getting the FC fixed up first, ready for the 70th. I will also be on the hunt for a defender/perentie, most likely early-mid next year.
I will post pics of the shed when it is happening.

Has been a while since posts.
After finishing my first year of teaching on the coast, I have moved.
I got a job last (for this year) at Coonamble. It is another year of teaching with a high chance of extension.
I get a lot of questions about the heat out here. I find it not to bad and the evaporative air con works reasonably well.
It is a career and financial choice to come out here.
My rent is $50 a week for a 2 bedroom duplex which is furnished.
Water is also included and I get a few other benefits. $1400 a year to my electricity, travel allowance and extra holidays.
I have a double garage but the FFr is 5cms too high to fit in. I will need to look at a few things to get it down as I will not leave it outside.
I have started a vegetable garden with mixed results.
Watermelon doing well. Pumpins are slow but okish.
Beans and peas were doing well but a lot have died. Same with my green leaf vegetables. I think it was the heat even though they were watered well.
The other issue people have told me is that the water is full of minerals which makes the pH level increase too much for some to grow well.
Looking forward to doing some trips out here later on.
The place was empty for a while so the grass went a little brown. It is quite green now. Those photos were taking 2 weeks apart and about 6 weeks ago.
