Yeah. I got one too. It expired over 12 months ago and I have gold RACQ instead, which is pretty much the same.

I think LR A think they might extract some more money out of me. They gave me 3 & 1/2 years grace now they have come back for the 2nd bite of the cherry. Having said all of that I may take them up on their offer.

Actually - you can get LR assist at several levels after the initial 3 years has expired. The top level is $140.00 per annum for a Puma.

This provides the exact cover that the initial 3 year LRA does. So, if you break down in the middle of the Gunbarrel (or anywhere!) - you will be recovered - at no cost.

I have RACQ Ultra at the highest "level" - but such cover still does not provide the same benefits as the aforementioned extended LR assist. No state motoring body offers unlimited recovery. This does.

L.R.Assist really is just an insurance policy that is offered and marketed under the guise of most well known brand names.
My Land Rover assist expired some number of years ago but I now have the same animal once again under the name of Ford.
Some astute pencil pusher has probably noted that LR is missing out on an opportunity to pick up some more commissions by pushing this product to customers off their data base and is trying hard to earn brownie points with the boss.
