    I have a 12" one ---& a LED light the same Dia
I have used it twice now, but only as a floodlight, its pretty damn good & puts out the same as a 2x35w halogen light but a much whiter light & around half the current drain- which is why I bought it- to get through a long nights campfires yakking.
One drawback- for a portable light is it's pretty heavy.

LED's as a product excellent LRM had a piece on the LED headlamps for the Defender ugly as, but a remarkable bit of illumoinating hardware.
The LED sidlights were so way beyond anything Land rover could dream of.
This month they covered off other LED's in way of "daylights" (the latest Euro regulation for new builds) these are designed to be on all the while until the headlights are turned on and so cut the circuit to the "daylights"
They indicated that the best led for landies come from an American company called "Speaker" the don't produce speakers ..just LED's.
They have looked at lots of LED's and have had issues with cheapies going bang or fading over time (mainly chinese ones) so I guess although $1200 is alot for me maybe it is of a quality that will last forever
