Yep sad, heard it on the news, I believe on his property. I always enjoyed his episodes with his dog doing what he loved.RIP Malcom.
Condolences to his family and friends
I'm gutted. My dad just called me to tell me the news. He was a good friend to my Dad and our family knew him well. Met him many times and he was a great bloke. My Dad use to do a lot of work with him and I was hoping to go up North next year and go out bush with him.
Spewing. He'll be missed![]()
As a teenager I remember going to a theatrette in College Street Sydney for a screening of his brand new doco "Across the Top" both Malcolm Douglas and David Oldmeadow were there with the Series 1 Landy parked out the front.
I too have his DVD's.

Very, very sad news indeed.
Malcolm Douglas was a Legend and a true Gentleman. We had the pleasure of meeting him and his wife when they lived in Sydney - Dulwich Hill, many, many years ago. He was a giant of a man - well over 6ft tall. He gave us some excellent advice when we were planning our Kimberley trip.
He brought the REAL Outback into all our Loungerooms and had a wonderful rapport with the Aboriginal people - especially the Bardi people of the Kimberley.
People like him are few and far between and he will be missed greatly by many.
Our condolences to his family.
Erich & Sheila
